Privacy Policy
Snaily is a desktop application built by ApricotApps for reviewing changes in your local Git repositories. It is designed to keep your code on your machine. This policy explains what limited data the app handles and why.
The short version
- Snaily reads and reviews your repositories locally on your device.
- We do not collect, transmit, or store the contents of your code or diffs on our servers.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not run advertising trackers.
Data processed on your device
To do its job, Snaily reads the Git repositories you open — file contents, diffs, branches, commit history, and related metadata — and writes your local settings, preferences, and review state (such as which files you've marked as reviewed). All of this stays on your computer unless you explicitly enable a feature that sends it elsewhere, as described below.
Software updates
To tell you when a new version is available, Snaily periodically contacts our release server. These requests include basic technical information such as your current app version, operating system, and IP address (which is inherent to any internet request). We use this only to deliver the correct update and to understand aggregate download volumes. We do not use it to identify you.
AI and agent review
Snaily can hand a diff to a coding agent — such as Claude Code, Cursor, or opencode — that you have installed on your own machine. When you trigger a review, the relevant diff is passed to that local tool, which you have chosen and control. ApricotApps does not receive your code in this process. Those third-party tools operate under their own privacy policies and terms; please review them separately.
Optional account & sync
If you choose to sign in and enable cloud sync (currently offered in preview), Snaily synchronizes a limited set of metadata only — such as project names, repository paths, your settings, and preferences — so your setup follows you across devices. Your repository contents and code are never synced or uploaded. If you do not sign in, no account data leaves your device.
Third parties
- Download & update hosting. Application binaries and release metadata are served from cloud storage (Amazon Web Services).
- Coding agents. Any agent CLI you install and invoke from Snaily is a third-party tool subject to its own policies.
Data retention
Local data persists on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. If you use account sync, you can disconnect at any time; deleting your account removes the synced metadata associated with it.
Children
Snaily is intended for software developers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Snaily after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
